Who we are

Marlow Pulse is operated by What’s On Digital Ltd, the controller responsible for your personal information. Our address is Unit 13, Lytchett House, Poole, Dorset BH16 6FA. Contact us at hello@marlowpulse.co.uk about your data or this policy.

What we collect and why

When you subscribe, we collect your email address, subscription and confirmation status, and any campaign details attached to the link you used, such as which Facebook campaign brought you here. We use this information to send Marlow Pulse, manage subscriptions and understand which campaigns bring us readers. Providing an email address is necessary to receive the newsletter.

Our hosting and security providers process technical information such as your IP address, browser and request details to deliver the website, diagnose faults and prevent abuse. If you contact us, we also process the information you include in your message.

Our newsletter platform may record delivery, email opens and link clicks to help us understand readership and improve editions. We do not sell your personal information. Subscribing to Marlow Pulse does not subscribe you to Wycombe Pulse.

Our basis for using your information

We rely on your consent to send the newsletter. You confirm your subscription using the link in our confirmation email and can withdraw consent using the unsubscribe link in any edition. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. We rely on legitimate interests to operate and protect the website, respond to enquiries, maintain suppression records and understand the performance of our newsletter and signup campaigns. We may also retain information where required by law.

Services we use

  • Beehiiv manages subscribers, confirmation emails, newsletter delivery and newsletter reporting.
  • Vercel hosts the website and processes website requests and operational logs.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks signup requests for bots and abuse using browser and technical signals.
  • Statcounter provides website visitor statistics so we can understand how people find and use Marlow Pulse.
  • Google Workspace hosts our contact inbox.

These providers may process information outside the UK. Applicable provider agreements describe their international-transfer safeguards, including contractual protections where required. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

Cookies and website tracking

We use a necessary cookie called marlow_signup to remember your subscription reference and check your confirmation status. It expires after 24 hours and does not contain your email address. Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical signals to protect the form. We use Statcounter to measure visits and page views. It processes information such as your IP address, browser and device details, visit times, page URLs and referring links. Statcounter uses cookies to distinguish new and returning visitors; see its cookie information. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We do not pass newsletter form entries or confirmation tokens to Statcounter. This website does not currently use Google Analytics or Meta Pixel. Campaign information in the signup URL is sent with your subscription; we do not use an advertising cookie for this.

How long we keep information

We keep your subscriber information while you receive the newsletter. After you unsubscribe, we may retain limited subscription, consent and suppression records to respect your choice and resolve complaints. Other correspondence and technical records are kept only as long as needed for support, security or legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your information; we will explain if a limited record must be retained.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct or erase your information, restrict its use, or receive a portable copy where applicable. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw newsletter consent at any time. Email hello@marlowpulse.co.uk to make a request. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes

We will update this page when our use of personal information changes, with the date shown above. We will communicate material changes where appropriate.
